BISHOP DAVID COOPER
Senior Pastor

His original membership consisted of twenty two members including women and children. They purchased a church at 261 Mitchell Road in Memphis, TN but soon God blessed and the congregation was forced to move to our present location at 4609 Knight Arnold , Memphis, TN.
Pastor Cooper has an active outreach ministry in Oxford and Holly Springs, MS. He is also in the process this fall to include an active health ministry.

His favorite saying at the church is “If you don’t find love here, inform me”, because the church is built on the premise of God’s love towards the church. On August 6, 2017, Pastor Cooper was consecrated to the Bishop. He works dutifully as a board member for The Alliance of Apostolic Churches of Christ Jesus.

Bishop Cooper has been happily married to his high school sweetheart, First Lady Dorothy D. Cooper for 49 years. They have four children Ondra, Sherilyn, David Jr., and Kimberly (Kevin). They are also blessed to have three grandsons, Davion, Christopher,
and Aden.
Bishop David Cooper, Sr. is a dynamic, anointed, God fearing, Holy Ghost filled servant of the Most High, Our Lord Jesus Christ. He is on a mission to lead God’s people by example, being inspired by the word of God. He seeks those who are lost and brings them to our Savior where salvation is free.

On December 24, 1971, Christmas Eve, he went by the church before going to gamble. He felt he would have “good luck”. Little he knew, the Lord had a plan for his life. After hearing the elders talk about Jesus, he decided he wanted what they had. He was baptized that night in the name of Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. He became a faithful member of the Lighthouse Church of our Lord Jesus Christ under the leadership of Elder Joe Allen Clark.

He served faithfully in various positions including a deacon, church secretary, organist, choir president and pastor. He served each position dutifully until God gave him a charge to feed his sheep. Pastor Cooper accepted the charge with a mind to please God and to love God’s people.
FIRST LADY DOROTHY COOPER
First Lady Dorothy Cooper is a true example of Proverbs 31:10. She’s faithful to her God, devoted wife of 49 years to Bishop David Cooper, a doting mother of four ,and solicitous grandmother of three. Her mantra is “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed beg for bread.” She works alongside her husband in ministry and assists with any need for God’s people.

She often expresses pearls of wisdom to encourage, exhort, and empower the saints of God. She believes in fighting spiritual warfare against Satan and stands firmly on the word of God.
She has served as choir president, kitchen committee chair, play writer/choreographer, registered nurse, and missionary.

She loves spending time with her family and traveling.
